International Day of Forests

Every year on March 21, we celebrate the International Day of Forests, a day dedicated to raising awareness and protecting our forests, as established by the United Nations. This day is a reminder of how important forests are to the health of our planet, our daily lives and our well-being.

Forests are home to millions of plant and animal species, provide clean air, absorb carbon dioxide and regulate the climate. It is also the perfect destination for those who love hiking, climbing and outdoor activities.
As a community that loves and respects nature, smarthikers promote the sustainable use of the forest through hiking excursions, on all the paths of Greece and beyond, aiming at the peaks of our mountains.
